IP Surveillance or CCTV
IP Surveillance systems, more commonly known as CCTV systems, although this technically incorrect. IP Surveillance is an alternative to CCTV. CCTV, is acronym for Closed Circuit Television, and the technology has been around for decades and developed by using cathode ray tube technology as used for television at the time. As the name suggests, it is a television system in a Closed Circuit configuration, with cameras connected to monitors, or recording equipment and therefore, only users of that CCTV system having access to the images. Where as, users of an IP Surveillance system are not limited to local access to images, as access can be achieved world wide. This is because IP based surveillance systems and IP cameras can transmit visual and audio information directly to the internet and this information can be viewed from a users laptop, a mobile phone or any other internet connected device.
