Access Control and Door Entry
Access Control Systems
Access Control Systems are electronic systems that allow authorized personnel to enter controlled, restricted, or secure spaces by presenting an access credential to a credential reader, that unlocks a door, gate, barrier etc.
An example of a credential would typically be a fob token or card. However, with the advancement of technology, this could be a Biometric credential such as a fingerprint, or face.
Door Entry Systems
Door entry systems, or otherwise referred to as intercoms, are commonly installed in residential and commercial buildings. The purpose of such a system is to allow communications between the entrance of a building and people inside the building. Usually a resident, or reception area in the case of commercial systems. Commercial systems can be straight forward my comprise of a a car park entry barrier, or gate. Then a main entrance to access the lobby of the building. Residential systems can be far more complex. The system may consist of multiple entrances or doors, gates, barriers, car parks etc. These systems can become very complicated for the purpose of maintaining the system and reactive repairs.
The majority of Door Entry Systems will also include an access control solution too. For the user or resident, access credentials, for the visitor or delivery, a door entry solution.
These are systems are critical in maintaining security, and therefore safety within within the office space, factory or residential property and therefore it is essential that these systems are maintained by competent experienced personal who understand the architecture and topology of the technology
Door entry systems can be voice only, or they can be Visual too. IP systems allow communications to not only a handset in the apartment, but a mobile phone too.
